Laughter Yoga 3MF Program

Laughter Yoga 3MF Program

3MF ( Ministry to Mature Members and Friends) is a program and luncheon series sponsored by First Presbyterian Church. The mission statement of 3MF is: “To meet the spiritual, social, physical and educational needs of our mature members and friends.” Programs are generally held on the second Monday of the month, September through May at 11:00 a.m. Programs held at the church are free and open to the public. 3MF also plans regional trips as part of their schedule. Past trips have included: National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN, Fanny Hill Dinner Theater in Eau Claire, WI and Organic Farms in LaFarge, WI.

When meeting at the church, a lunch generally follows the program at the cost of $7. Reservations for the following month’s program can be made at each meeting. Reservations can also be made by calling the church office (784-4248). Program announcements appear in the La Crosse Tribune, and current editions of the Senior Edition and Senior Life.

Here are some of our past offerings to the 3MF program:

Musings of a Middle Aged Man
He who laughs, lasts…just some of the wisdom Fred Kusch, president of JFK Associates instills as an international business consultant.

Fall Foliage Cruise
All aboard the Mississippi Explorer to visit the beautiful backwaters  of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife Fish Refuge!

A Chaplain’s Tour in Iraq
As we honor those who have served our country, we were pleased to welcome the Rev. Deris Rice, pastor of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Sparta.

Tales from Holidays Past
The professional storytelling team of Sara Slayton and Paul Heckman shared a delightful presentation as they weave tales about growing older and recalling past holiday revelry.

Going Green…What Does That Mean?
A viewing of the movie “No Impact Man” – one man’s attempt to practice what he preaches for one year.

Understanding Scientology
Is it a cult, a religion  –  just what is it?  As well liked by our  group as he is with his students, who voted him Viterbo University’s  2010 Teacher of the Year, Dr. Bill Reese was again with us.

Bev Ruston, a retired medical social worker who has gone on seven medical missions to Haiti, helped us to understand how Haiti got to be the country it is now.  She updated us on conditions in Haiti especially since the 2010 earthquake that she and other church members lived through and will tell us what we can do to help the Haitian people.

Our Amish Neighbors
We toured southeastern Minnesota Amish country to learn about the Amish way of life and witness first hand what it is like.

Mustard Anyone?   How About Wine?
We stopped at one of the most unusual museums in the  U.S. – the internationally infamous National Mustard Museum in  Middleton, WI.
