Sunday mornings

CHILDREN IN WORSHIP

Parents are encouraged to bring their children to worship service.  Within our Sanctuary and Gathering Area we have wonderful spaces for children and parents to be in, and they can still be a part of the service and worship.

Blanket Space for Children

In both the Sanctuary & Chapel there are spaces we call Blanket Space.  These cozy corners are equipped with pillows, books, soft toys, and blocks for children & parents to play with throughout the service. We recognize that parents often want their young children with them during church so we have created Blanket Spaces to give parents a fun and inclusive space for them to be with their young child.

Children’s Library

Our Children’s Library is located just outside the Sanctuary so children and parents can be close to the service but in their own space where children can be more active. Equipped with books, puzzles, and coloring supplies this space is a wonderful place for parents who wish to hear the service and participate, but have restless or tired children. Books and movies from the Children’s Library are available to check-out and take home.

Children’s Sermons   Children's sermon during worship

Every Sunday just before the sermon, children are invited to come to the front for A Moment for Children, a short sermon that is geared to their age and comprehension. A simple message based on the Scripture reading for the service, this short time with the children are instructive and fun for children and the congregation as a whole.

Children’s Church & Bible Memory Club

During 9:30 am service (Ages 4 year old through 5th graders)
Children need time to share & pray together on Sunday mornings. Children’s church at FPC is just that kind of time for kids. After the Moment for Children, at approximately 10:00 am, children are dismissed to Children’s Church. Besides sharing & prayer time, children receive a snack, work on a project together, and have the option to be in the Bible Memory Club. Children get to memorize/discuss a Scripture one-on-one with the teachers and all children get to pick a prize from the Prize Box at the end of our session. The children return to church at 10:30 to be with their families for the end of the service. On communion Sundays (first Sunday of the month) children return to their family just after the sermon so they can be with their parents during communion.
