Director of Children’s Ministry
I was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was young, just before I entered middle school. Having been bullied and teased for most of my elementary years God graciously showed me the reality of what my life was becoming… one of fear and loneliness. But all my years at church & in Sunday school, along with the faithfulness of my parents, helped me to see God in my life. My life changed forever from that point on and I feel so blessed to have seen my need for Jesus at such a young age.
God led me to be in Children’s ministry some 15 years ago in this church. Though I have worked with children in several other capacities, working with them in a faith community is really is my calling.
Outside my work in ministry I love spending time with family & friends. I love walking, especially if it involves my dog. Doing art and crocheting are also things I love to do. My husband & I host homeless students through the Host Home Program here in La Crosse and I also serve on the board of Bethany St. Joseph.
I don’t really have a bucket list, but I do hope to travel to Scotland and revisit the western islands. I think I would happily make this a driving trip as long as there were many stops to hike and explore on foot.
I received my undergraduate degree in Religion and Psychology from the University of Colorado many, many moons ago. I also have a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland. I worked in social work with both children and seniors for several years before joining the church staff.
