Nursery

Our nursery provides children from birth through 3 years of age with a safe, nurturing environment and loving care. The nursery is open for both services on Sunday mornings (8:30 & 10:30 am) and is staffed with two nursery assistants each Sunday.

WHAT TO BRING

Please send your child with an extra diaper and change of clothes.  Include a bottle and pacifier and any security items he or she may need.  Be sure to mark everything clearly with your child’s name.

WHAT TO EXPECT

When you arrive at First Pres, head downstairs and follow signs to our warm nursery.  Our nursery assistants will help you transition your child to the nursery and show you how to sign in.

Please separate quickly from your child.  Children often cry when leaving their parents-this is especially true of toddlers and is very normal.  We will do all we can to console your child and you can tell us how long you would like us to let him/her cry before contacting you.  Children usually settle in after a minute or two and do very well for the short time they are away from parents.   If we do need to contact you, we will text your cell phone.  Please keep it visible in the event we need to reach you.

If your child has never been left before or has a hard time with separation, we encourage you leave your child in the nursery for short periods at a time each Sunday, extending his or her stay in the nursery by 5 to 10 minutes each week.  Pretty soon your child will be staying entire service!

Our nursery assistants are here because they love children and Jesus.  They want this to be a successful time for both your child & you.  We screen and train our nursery staff so both you and they are comfortable interacting and playing with your children while they are in our nursery.
